“Hella Insecure” was created on linen canvas using satin finished acrylic paints and a glossy clear glass finishing coat.

This piece was inspired by the HBO sitcom written and directed by Issa Rae. This piece was inspired by not only the artist’s love for the show but also by Issa Rae’s skillful story telling. Showing different dimensions to the black woman as well as inspiring other aspiring artists and creatives to keep pushing for their dreams. I hope that this piece can serve as a thank you to Issa Rae and her team for all of their amazing work and contribution to black culture and women’s empowerment.
